The MLS General English courses are for students who want to study in a mature environment and who fully appreciate that studying English in an English-speaking country is without doubt the fastest and most effective way to learn English. The MLS Exam Preparation courses are designed for students who are specifically seeking preparation for a particular exam, or who feel they will benefit from an exam focused syllabus. MLS is able to offer different kinds of English Language Examination preparation courses to suit your individual needs.

Choosing Your Course

General English
Monday – Friday 09:00 – 12:30 (20 lessons per week)
By following a General English Course, students will increase their accuracy in grammar and will increase their competence and confidence in the skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening.
Communicate more effectively and confidently in everyday situations by practising the 4 main skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking.

Intensive English
Monday - Friday 09:00 – 15:00 (30 lessons per week)
Students following the Intensive English Course follow the same programme as those in the General English Course, with the addition of a 6-hour negotiated syllabus. The aim here is to fill in gaps in the students’ knowledge and expertise and to address students’ particular needs.

• Minimum age: 16 years (typically 18+) • Class size: Maximum 14 (average 8-10) • Start dates: Any Monday (excluding UK public holidays)

Minimum age: 16 (Residental accommodation avaible for students aged 18 and over) 25 hours per week (max 12 per class), and at least 1.5 hours of plenaries, workshops and a coaching session. Each lesson is 60 minutes. For a 1 week course, add a supplement of £90 to the weekly price above For 12-52 weeks, reduce the weekly price by £85

MLS offers an examination counselling service to help you decide which exam is right for your level and which qualification will be the most useful to you. Our experienced Examinations Officer will meet with you on a one-to-one basis to help you make the right decisions and to guide you through the whole application process.

Choosing Your Accommodation

You will spend much time at MLS College studying during your stay, but it is likely you will spend more time in your accommodation.  MLS believes that the quality of service you receive from your accommodation in the UK is a major factor in the success of your stay in Bournemouth.

Homestay accommodation

Most students choose to stay with an English family (homestay) and this is recommended as the best way to improve your English outside the classroom and learn about culture in the UK. MLS takes great care in selecting homestay accommodation on behalf of its students.
